About Vista Counselling

A New Vantage Point

Life can be really challenging. In spite of your best efforts to cope, it can feel like you’re worn out and barely getting by, whether because of everyday stress, past trauma, or a season that simply asks more of you than you have. If that’s where you are, you’re in the right place. Moving beyond survival is what we do.

Vista Counselling is a counselling practice in Langley, BC offering in-person and online therapy for individuals and couples. We draw on a wide range of approaches: EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), AEDP and Observed & Experiential Integration (OEI) for individual work, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method and PACT with couples, and NeurOptimal Neurofeedback alongside either.

Sometimes what’s needed isn’t more effort. It’s a new vantage point.

We Match the Approach to the Person

We’ve built this practice around a range of approaches rather than a single model. We use a range of approaches, which lets us tailor what we do to your unique needs: your history, your goals, and how you process things.

Some of our approaches include:

EMDRA structured, well-researched therapy for trauma and PTSD, helping the brain reprocess experiences that stayed “stuck”.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)For the inner critic, self-sabotage, and the parts of us that seem to pull in different directions.
AEDPFor attachment wounds and emotions that have never felt safe to feel.
Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, and PACTFor couples working to find their way back to each other.
Observed & Experiential Integration (OEI)A gentler, newer trauma approach developed here in BC.
NeurOptimal NeurofeedbackEffortless brain training that supports the nervous system’s own regulation, on its own or alongside counselling.

You don’t need to figure that out before you reach out. Our job is to work with you to discern which of these approaches may be the best fit for what you’re needing.

Experience Across a Wide Range of Concerns

We’ve each spent the better part of two decades sitting with people facing nearly every kind of struggle. If what you’re struggling with isn’t shown below, that doesn’t mean we haven’t worked with it. You’re always welcome to get in touch and ask.

What Working With Us Looks Like

Counselling with us starts with first getting to know you. In the early sessions we’re listening for more than the problem: how you make sense of it, what it has cost you, how you tend to process things. That understanding, combined with our years of clinical experience, is what lets us discern which of our approaches, or which combination, is likely to serve you best. And we keep discerning as we go: as we come to know you better, the way we work together is refined too. Sessions happen in person at our Langley office at 20161 86 Ave (Unit B150), or online anywhere in BC.

When you’re ready, you can book an appointment through our secure online booking, or contact the office if you’d like to ask a question first.
