Individual Counselling
Navigating Life’s Challenges: A Path to Healing and Growth
Maybe you know exactly why you’re here — the anxiety that won’t switch off, the low mood that’s outstayed every reason for it, the event you can’t stop carrying. Or maybe you can’t name it yet; you just know you’re not doing well, and that white-knuckling it isn’t working anymore. Both are real reasons to come. You don’t need a diagnosis, a referral, or a tidy explanation to start counselling — most people arrive without one.
Vista Counselling provides individual counselling in Langley, BC — in person at our Langley office or online across BC — for anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, burnout, and the wide range of struggles that don’t fit neatly under any one label.
We match the approach to you — not the other way around.
What We Help With
Something else, or not sure? Since 2009 this practice has worked with the full breadth of what brings people to counselling — relationship struggles, self-criticism, life transitions, men’s health, stress that has no obvious source. If what you’re carrying isn’t on this list, that doesn’t mean we haven’t seen it. Reach out and ask.
How We Work
We’re trained in a range of evidence-based approaches — EMDR for trauma processing, Internal Family Systems (IFS) for the inner critic and internal conflict, AEDP for attachment wounds and emotional processing, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and others. Sometimes the right fit is one approach; often it’s a combination, and it can change as the work deepens.
Who You’ll Work With

Dr. Kevin Klassen, PsyD
With a doctorate in psychology and more than 20,000 clinical hours, Kevin has been practising in Langley since 2009 — working with individuals and couples through EMDR, IFS, AEDP, and EFT. Trauma is a particular focus, including work with first responders.

Roshni Vedamanikam, MA, MSW
A Registered Clinical Counsellor since 2003, Roshni brings an integrative approach and many years of experience supporting women and children affected by family violence. She works with depression, anxiety, burnout, and parenting and attachment struggles.
If you’re not sure who’s the better fit, the FAQ below has a fuller answer — or just ask us.
Your First Session
The first session is a conversation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you’d want to be different — at whatever pace feels manageable. You don’t need to have the problem figured out, and you won’t be pushed to go anywhere you’re not ready to go. By the end, you should have a sense of whether this feels like a fit and what working together would look like; we’ll be honest with you about that too.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does counselling cost?
Sessions are 50 minutes. The fee is $200 per session with Dr. Kevin Klassen and $165 per session with Roshni Vedamanikam. Many extended health plans cover counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor — check your plan before your first session. Full details, including our cancellation policy, are on our FAQ page.
How do I know which counsellor is right for me?
Both of our counsellors work with the full range of concerns we see most often — anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, and life’s harder transitions. The differences are mostly in approach and format: Kevin also works with couples and draws on EMDR, IFS, AEDP and EFT, with trauma as a particular focus; Roshni brings an integrative style shaped by many years of clinical practice, matching the approach to the person rather than working from a single method. If you’re unsure, contact us with a line or two about what’s bringing you in, and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Do I need a referral or a diagnosis to start?
No. You can book directly online — no referral needed, and you don’t need a diagnosis or to have “figured out the problem” before coming in. Starting with something as simple as “I’m not doing well and I’m not sure why” is completely fine.
Can we meet online, or only in person?
Both. We see clients in person at our Langley office and virtually across British Columbia — whichever feels more comfortable. Some people alternate depending on their week.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies — a lot. Some people come for a few sessions around something specific; others stay longer for deeper work. There’s no set number and no package to commit to. We’ll talk openly about how things are going as we work together, so you always know where you stand. We’ve also written about what shapes the timeline: Why Healing Takes Time.
