Below are answers to the questions we hear most often. If there’s something we haven’t covered, we’re always happy to help — just reach out.
Getting Started
Are you currently accepting new clients?
Yes, we’re accepting new clients. The quickest way to find an opening is to check live availability on our online booking page. If you’re not sure which counsellor or service is the best fit, you’re welcome to contact us and we’ll help you get started.
How do I book an appointment?
The easiest way is through our online booking portal, where you can see real-time availability and choose a time that works for you. If you’d prefer to ask a question first, you can reach us any time through our contact page.
Do you offer online counselling, or only in person?
Both. We offer in-person sessions at our Langley office and secure online video counselling, so you can choose whatever feels most comfortable and convenient. Many clients mix the two depending on their week, and you can book either option through our online scheduler.
What can I expect in a first session?
Your first session is mostly about getting to know you — what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and any background that helps us understand your situation. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to. Together we’ll begin shaping a direction that fits your goals, at a pace that feels right for you.
Our Services & Approach
What kinds of counselling do you offer, and what do you help with?
We provide individual counselling for anxiety, trauma and PTSD, depression, grief and loss, and burnout, as well as couples counselling and NeurOptimal neurofeedback. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply feel stuck and want a way forward, we’re here to help. You can explore everything on our services page.
Do you offer couples counselling?
Yes. We offer couples counselling for partners who want to improve communication, work through conflict, rebuild trust, or reconnect, drawing on evidence-based approaches including EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), the Gottman Method, and PACT (a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy). You can book a couples session through our online scheduler.
What is EMDR therapy, and do you offer it?
Yes, we offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a well-researched therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic memories. It’s often used for trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. If you’d like to know whether EMDR is a good fit for you, we’re glad to talk it through in a first session.
What is NeurOptimal neurofeedback?
NeurOptimal is a gentle, non-invasive form of neurofeedback that gives your brain real-time information about its own activity, helping it function more efficiently. Clients often use it to support stress, focus, sleep, and overall wellbeing. You can learn more on our NeurOptimal page.
Our Team
Who are the counsellors at Vista Counselling?
Vista Counselling is led by Dr. Kevin Klassen, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Marriage & Family Therapist with over 20,000 clinical hours supporting individuals and couples since 2009. Roshni Vedamanikam, MA, MSW, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has supported clients since 2003. You can read more about each of us on our About page.
Are your counsellors registered and qualified?
Yes. Our counsellors are Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) in good standing, which means they meet the education, supervised-experience, and ethical standards required for registration in British Columbia. Dr. Klassen is also a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist (RMFT).

Where are you located, and is there parking?

Fees, Insurance & Payment
How much does a session cost?
Sessions with Dr. Klassen are $200 for a 50-minute session, and sessions with Roshni are $165 for a 50-minute session.
Is counselling covered by insurance? Do you direct-bill?
Many extended health benefit plans cover counselling — we recommend checking with your insurance carrier to see whether they cover Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) or Registered Marriage & Family Therapists (RMFT). We don’t direct-bill insurers, but we provide a receipt after each session that you can submit to your provider for reimbursement.
How do I pay for sessions?
We accept cash, debit, e-transfer, and credit card. You can securely store a credit card in your Jane account for easy, automatic billing. Payment is made at the end of each session, and we’ll provide a receipt for your records and for insurance reimbursement.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48 hours’ notice to cancel without penalty. Cancellations with 24–48 hours’ notice are charged a $75 fee, less than 24 hours’ notice a $150 fee, and a missed session (no-show) is charged the full session fee — unless the cancellation is due to a medical or family emergency.
